motivation in schools

Sometimes teachers think they are motivating their students just because they are doing what is suppose to be done (thinking that they are teachers) but they don’t realize they are working with children, with different minds and more important, different lives. Teachers care about teaching contents and not helping children to grow like persons to make their life easier in the future. This means to face up their future life.
Teaching’s methods are not always the best ones… why?... because professors every so often do not realize they are working badly with some children, and because of that, they can change the perspective of them in terms of learning and the importance of that. Teachers need to know that one method can be pretty good for some children, but what about the other ones?.. this is very important to consider, since in class educators use to motivate in a badly way. Instead of helping everybody to have confidence about the things they are doing, sometimes they provoke in the children a feeling of distrust regarding themselves. Teachers cannot put all their attention on just a group of students; all of them need the teacher’s feed-back because that can help them in relation to their self-esteem and also their confidence.
Nowadays children are being more motivated in a way, but I think that the government’s politics do not help to contribute with it. We are living in competence day a day as well as schools do, and they care about doing well in the national (and international) tests instead of concerning about the children.

  1. Hi Marce!

I think this is an interesting article.
Sometimes teachers are not motivated and that's the problem.. how can you motivate someone if you are not?
I think it's a big issue to solve, and then we could fix children's motivation.

  2. Hi!

I chose the same article because I think that it is a problem we are living these days. In our ELAB and sometimes in the university.
I know the teachers sometimes are not able to solve all the students´s problems but thats because they are not motivate neither.
Anyway, I liked what you wrote.

    Take care.

  3. The problem of education is that all society must be part of it. They do not realise that education need of teachers, students, school, parents, and also all the enviroment. I hope we could get together for the best of students :)

  4. Marce, I think you made a great post because you said what YOU think.
I agree with you about teachings' methods. You know that because of the strikes I have been spending more time in the classroom... you know what I mean... Anyway, the thing is that the girls have told me how frustated they feel because of things they are not able to do and nobody helps them.
It's sad to say but teachers in public schools seem to not care about kids' minds.

I hope you are having a great day ...B-day! yeah!! :)

  5. I agree with you when you say that nowadays it is a very important issue, that teachers just focus on getting their contents reviewed on classed more than they should worry about how the process is ocurring. All children are different, therefore, the class programme should not be reduced to go through contents, but also oating attention to their learning process.

Regards, and Happy birthday!! (a lil' bit late)

  6. Yes! 42 children in a classroom is too much!
    But is the sad reality!

Just raise your your own motivation and then pass it on!

    Regards!
